JN�r.us N�1 <br />tP'y i <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII _• STATE OF HAWAII <br />7TE Gf •N ►i <br />RESOLUTION NO. 17 14 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING /APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR THE HAWAII ISLAND HUMANE SOCIETY'S <br />ANIMAL COMMUNITY CENTER IN KEAUHOU. <br />WHEREAS, the Hawaii Island Humane Society (HIHS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br />organization that was established in 1965 with the mission of preventing cruelty to animals, <br />eliminating pet overpopulation, and enhancing the bond between humans and animals; and <br />WHEREAS, HIHS is contracted by the Hawaii County Police Department to investigate <br />and resolve animal - related complaints and to enforce animal control laws; and <br />WHEREAS, HIHS is building an Animal Community Center in Keauhou that will <br />include a veterinary clinic, kennels for 60 dogs, cattery, education center, one -acre dog park, <br />horse park, walking trail, and other amenities; and <br />WHEREAS, the Animal Community Center is in need of lighting fixtures, ceiling fans, <br />smoke detectors, and fire extinguishers to complete the remodeling of two buildings; and <br />WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to <br />the Police Department to provide financial assistance to the Hawaii Island Humane Society for <br />the Animal Community Center in Keauhou; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br />following amount is hereby transferred /appropriated as set forth below: <br />FUND: GENERAL <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $1,900 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />010.101.5101.91 Clerk- Council SVC — Contingency Relief <br />CREDITED TO: <br />010.239.5239.01 Police Department - Animal Control <br />Humane Society <br />115 Misc.
