S. Department of Justice, Office of Community Oriented Policing Services is providing <br />federal funds of $250,000 for the purpose of supporting the Hawaii County Police Department's <br />COPS Hiring Program. The funds from this grant will be used to hire two police officers, for the <br />36 month period of the grant. <br />Enclosed is a resolution to authorize the Mayor to enter into an agreement with the U. S. <br />Department of Justice for this grant.
