These funds, and MKSS assistance,
would be used by Hawaii County for roadwork adjacent to the Maunakea Visitor Information Station. See below:
The money transfer is contingent upon the passage of a CIP resolution within Hawaii County to ensure any money
received from MKSS could only be used to fund this project. The project includes:
- Resurface approximately 800 feet of road adjacent to the Visitor's Information Station.
- Pave a parallel parking shoulder, approximately 200' long by 12' wide, on the east side of the road.
- Pave and widen from 17' to 24', a diagonal parking shoulder, 500 feet long by 24' on the west side of the road.
This would involve pushing back the cinder in the right -of -way by about 7', expanding the width from 17' to 24'.
- Replace the 4 temporary speed humps with permanent asphalt sinusoidal speed humps.
- Re- stripe the area with lane markings and traffic calming markings.
Sincere y
OJ4161 speed bumps, widen and pave off-roAO, parkinf%,sp 4s tc, a cl--001 of 24%
is,purrently 32 feet wide including the paved shr,..ulder.
