COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />ORDINANCE NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />BILL NO. 16 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 10, DIVISION 1, SECTION 24- <br />256, SCHEDULE 4 OF THE HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS <br />AMENDED), RELATING TO 30 MILE PER HOUR LIMIT. <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAI`L• <br />SECTION 1. This amendment is being proposed based on a request to review and <br />possibly revise the speed limits in the area of Kalapana-Kapoho Beach Road. A traffic study, <br />which included a speed and volume count and an intersection and stopping sight distance review, <br />justified the 30 mile per hour limit zone for a portion of Kalapana-Kapoho Beach Road. <br />SECTION 2. Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 1, Section 24-256, Schedule 4. 30 Mile <br />Per Hour Speed Limit, paragraph (g) Puna is amended by revising existing item: <br />(3) Kalapana-Kapoho Beach Road, from its northern terminus to Kapoho Kai <br />Drive. <br />SECTION 3. Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 1, Section 24-256, Schedule 4. 30 Mile <br />Per Hour Speed Limit, paragraph (g) Puna is amended by adding new item and renumbering as <br />required: <br />( Kalapana-Kapoho Beach Road, from a point six thousand three hundred sixty-one <br />feet south of Kapoho Kai Drive to its southern terminus. <br />SECTION 4. Material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New material is underscored. In <br />printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed and stricken material and underscoring need not be included. <br />SECTION 5. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof <br />to any person or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or <br />
