COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. 51 <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION <br />OF A FLAT SCREEN TELEVISION WITH ACCESSORIES, A DVD <br />PLAYER AND VOLLEYBALL NETS TO THE DEPARTMENT OF <br />PARKS AND RECREATION <br />WHEREAS, the Queen Lili'uokalani Children's Center is donating a flat screen <br />television with accessories, a DVD player, and volleyball nets with a total value of <br />$4,000 to the Department of Parks and Recreation; and <br />WHEREAS, this equipment will be utilized at the Kawananakoa Gym in <br />Keaukaha to support athletic -based events; and <br />WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai'i County Charter provides <br />that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, <br />securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, <br />and Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawai'i County Code states that <br />any gifts or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the <br />capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by <br />resolution approved by the Council; and <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation recommends the <br />acceptance of this donation; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in <br />accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawai'i County Charter, and <br />Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawai'i County Code, the Council of the <br />County of Hawai'i accepts this donation. <br />
