COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />61 1;i <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT FOR HAWAII ISLAND HUMANE SOCIETY'S <br />ANIMAL COMMUNITY CENTER. <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii Island Humane Society (HIHS) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br />organization, and its mission is to provide shelter for animals that are homeless, injured, lost, or <br />abandoned;and <br />WHEREAS, HIHS also provides animal adoptions, education programs, and promotes <br />the Spay/Neuter Community Assistance Program; and <br />WHEREAS, HIHS is contracted by the Hawaii County Police Department to investigate <br />and resolve animal -related complaints and to enforce animal control laws; and <br />WHEREAS, HIHS has built the Animal Community Center in Keauhou to expand and <br />improve its services to animals and the community, and HIHS is requesting funds to pay for <br />landscaping and rock walls at the entrance of this new facility; and <br />WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to <br />the Hawaii Police Department to provide funds to Hawaii Island Humane Society for <br />landscaping and rock walls at the Animal Community Center in Keauhou; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br />following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br />FUND: General <br />AMOUNT OF <br />APPROPRIATION: $2,000 <br />OUT AND FROM: <br />010.101.5101.91 Clerk -Council SVC — Contingency Relief $2,000 <br />CREDITED TO: <br />010.239.5239.01 Hawaii Police Department -Animal Control <br />Humane Society <br />115 Misc. Contract Services <br />(HIHS — Animal Community Center) <br />$2,000 <br />
