COUNTY OF HAWAII •_ <br />or•N'P <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />5 15 <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THREE RING RANCH, <br />INC., TO PAY FOR TRIMMING AND REMOVAL OF TREES AT THE EXOTIC <br />ANIMAL SANCTUARY. <br />WHEREAS, Three Ring Ranch, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and an exotic <br />animal sanctuary that is licensed by the United States Department of Agriculture and accredited <br />by both the American Sanctuary Association and the Global Federation of Animal Sanctuaries; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the goal of Three Ring Ranch, Inc., is to help our youth to be <br />environmentally responsible by teaching them about the fragile ecosystem; and <br />WHEREAS, visitors to the ranch are given a rare opportunity to see the exotic animals <br />up close; and <br />WHEREAS, Three Ring Ranch, Inc., needs funds to pay for trimming and removal of <br />trees around the animal enclosures and educational center to ensure the safety of the staff, <br />volunteers, students, and visitors; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and <br />WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 6 will be appropriated to <br />the Hawaii Police Department to provide a grant to Three Ring Ranch, Inc., for trimming and <br />removal of trees at the exotic animal sanctuary; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br />following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br />
