STATE OF HAWAII 77 15 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO WEST SIDE HAWAII LITTLE LEAGUE OF WAIKOLOA TO BUILD A BASEBALL FIELD AT KAMAKOA NUI PARK. WHEREAS, the West Side Hawaii Little League of Waikoloa is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and a charter member of Little League Baseball, Incorporated; and WHEREAS, the West Side Hawaii Little League of Waikoloa provides a community- based, recreational and competitive sports program for the youth of Waikoloa; and WHEREAS, participating in outdoor activities provide physical, social, emotional, and intellectual benefits; and WHEREAS, the Department of Parks and Recreation maintains Kamakoa Nui Park to provide the public with safe, enjoyable facilities; and WHEREAS, the West Side Hawaii Little League of Waikoloa would like to build a baseball field at Kamakoa Nui Park, but needs funding to purchase dirt, fertilizer, rakes, dugouts, bases, score room, and bleachers; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, material, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 9 will be appropriated to the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to West Side Hawaii Little League of Waikoloa to purchase supplies and equipment to build a baseball field at Kamakoa Nui Park; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:
