No. 1028/ Bill No. 283 <br />Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 283, reports as follows: <br />Bill No. 283, transmitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi via Communication No. 1028 dated <br />August 28, 2014, amends Chapter 25, (Zoning Code), Article 2, Division 7, Section 25-2-71, <br />Section 15-2-17, Section 25-2-76, Section 25-2-77, And Article 6, Division 1, Section 25-6-3, <br />Section 25-6-7, and Section 25-6-10 of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition, as <br />amended). <br />The Windward Planning Commission provided a favorable recommendation on July 3, 2014, to <br />a request, initiated by the Planning Director, relating to the review of development projects <br />proposed within a special district. This bill would create a process within the Zoning Code that <br />requires the Planning Director to review and consult with a local design review committee for <br />certain land use permit applications situated within a special district to promote consistency with <br />applicable adopted design guidelines and standards. <br />Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Bill No. 283 and <br />recommends passage on first reading. <br />ps <br />Respectfully submitted, <br />COMMITTEE ON PLANNING <br />GRE ll.
