REPORT OF THE <br />COMMITTEE ON FINANCE <br />DATE: March 17, 2015 <br />PLACE: Council Chambers <br />Kailua-Kona, Hawaii <br />TIME: 2:32 p.m. <br />Council Chair and Members <br />Hawaii County Council <br />Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br />Re: Comm. No. 153 <br />Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Communication No. 153, reports as follows: <br />Communication 153, transmitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi, dated February 18, 2015, requests review and <br />favorable recommendation of the nomination of Ms. Rene Siracusa of Council District 5 to the Hawaii County <br />Public Access, Open Space, and Natural Resources Preservation Commission (PONC). <br />Ms. Siracusa is a 42 year resident of Hawaii and is currently the president of Malama O Puna and the Puna <br />Community Medical Center. She is the treasurer and fundraising chair of Kokua Pahoa and a member of the <br />Ka`ohe Homesteads Neighborhood Watch. If confirmed, Ms. Siracusa will serve a term to expire on <br />December 31, 2018. <br />Ms. Charmaine Shigemura, Executive Assistant to Mayor Kenoi, came forward and provided background <br />information on Nominee Siracusa, expressed the Mayor's support, and requested Council's favorable action of <br />this appointment.
