Miura <br />Deputy Director <br />The County's Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) proposes to sell <br />real property in the Kamakoa Nui Workforce Housing Community at Waikoloa to <br />Habitat for Humanity, West Hawaii ("Habitat"). Kamakoa Nui was developed by the <br />County of Hawaii and is overseen by the OHCD. Habitat is a nonprofit organization <br />whose mission is to empower families, and to build community and hope through home <br />ownership for low income partner families. Since their founding in 2002, they have <br />successfully completed 24 new homes, 25 critical home repairs, helped with renovation <br />of the women's shelter, home repairs for seniors and many other successful projects. <br />Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the Finance Director to negotiate the sale of real <br />property to Habitat for Humanity, West Hawaii, and to authorize the Mayor to execute <br />this sales agreement. <br />If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Susan Akiyama, Housing <br />Administrator at 961-8379. <br />4&-,°A& <br />Deanna S.
