Please share this letter, Curtis, with the rest of the council.
We thought perhaps we had learned from so many previous "Hit and Run" ezperiences
with developers that they are willing to promise ANYTHING (verbally) to get their way,
but the bottom line with moat of them is to get in, spend the LEAST amount of money on
amenities that can ultimately make the difference between a slum and a pleasant, safe
neighborhood, sell quickly while everything is new and looks great, and SPLIT, leaving
the community to deal with the problems that come later- i.e., increased school populations,
lac4 of parks, rec:
eateaa, safe sidewaEl~, ate. for the new papclation. NO, NO, NO, NO::
Developers should pay more, not less, for the privilege of being allowed to develop.
We need effective planning rules; we need the State Land Use Commission for checks and
balances; we need infinitely MORE preservation of our over stressed environment, not
less. Yaroashiro campaigned as and "environmental" candidate- and voters bought it.
His true colors, again, are showing. The leopard has not changed its spots.
Please, we need more control over development, not less. The community immediately
affected should have a powerful say in what is allowed. "Crazy Horse" is a perfect
ezample of the planning process gone absolutely berserk- no more, please no more.
Sincerely,
~ `
om Shock ey
