COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 203 15 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM THE DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HILO-HAMAKUA <br /> COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION FOR THE 2015 LAUPAHOEHOE <br /> HEALTH AND SAFETY FAIR. <br /> WHEREAS, the 2015 Laupahoehoe Health and Safety Fair ("Health and Safety Fair") is <br /> a campaign to promote wellness and education, as well as disaster preparedness; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hilo-Hamakua Community Development Corporation, a 501(c)(3) <br /> nonprofit organization, in partnership with the Laupahoehoe Community Public Charter School <br /> will host the first annual Health and Safety Fair on August 29, 2015; and <br /> WHEREAS, the main goal of the Health and Safety Fair is to focus on healthy lifestyle <br /> choices, health care, and emergency response and management; and <br /> WHEREAS, participants include the UH Hilo Daniel K. Inouye College of Pharmacy, <br /> the UH Hilo School of Nursing, physician organizations, the Hawai`i County Civil Defense <br /> Agency, and the Department of Parks and Recreation; and <br /> WHEREAS, events will include the second annual Color Run, swimming activities at <br /> Laupahoehoe pool, various healthy food demonstrations, and disaster preparedness <br /> presentations; and <br /> WHEREAS, funds are needed to help with expenses associated with entertainment, <br /> prizes, travel, and furniture/tent rental; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, <br /> service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and <br /> WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 1 will be appropriated to <br /> the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to the Hilo-Hamakua Community <br /> Development Corporation for the 2015 Laupahoehoe Health and Safety Fair; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br /> following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br />
