:fiffi-71 '''''''''''''''''''''''' <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII : •E6 '=°''�' • STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 265 15 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATED TO THE <br /> FIRST JUNIOR POLICE OFFICERS PROGRAM AT PAHOA ELEMENTARY <br /> SCHOOL. <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawai`i Police Department has established Community Policing to <br /> form a partnership with the community in order to create a safe and secure environment; and <br /> WHEREAS, Community Police Officers are responsible for developing partnerships <br /> within their designated communities through community mobilization, crime prevention efforts, <br /> and problem solving; and <br /> WHEREAS, Community Police Officers also work with Junior Police Officers (JPO) to <br /> provide a safe school environment; and <br /> WHEREAS, Pahoa Elementary School will be introducing their first JPO program <br /> during this 2015-2016 school year; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Community Police Officers in Puna have identified a financial need to <br /> purchase shirts for the Pahoa Elementary School students participating in the JPO program and <br /> to cover expenses related to their first JPO award celebration at the end of the school year; and <br /> WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to <br /> the Hawai`i Police Department to assist with expenses related to the first Junior Police Officers <br /> program at Pahoa Elementary School; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br /> following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br />
