No. 443/Bill No. 84 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 10:50 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Public Works and Parks and Recreation,to which was referred Bill No. 84, <br /> reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 84, transmitted by Public Works Director Warren H.W. Lee, via Communication No. 443 <br /> dated August 4, 2015, amends Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 5, of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 <br /> (2005 Edition, as amended), relating to parking. <br /> The bill amends Section 24-280 (No parking at anytime), Subsection (f), Kona, by extending the <br /> portion of Hina-Lani Street where parking is prohibited. <br /> Council Member Paleka voiced his concern as to whether there were provisions in the <br /> Hawai`i County Code for exemptions for emergencies to the "No parking at anytime" law. He stated <br /> that Hina-Lani Street is a very steep road and there are sure to be possible car break-downs. <br /> Council Chair Dru Kanuha spoke of the dangers of parking around the Ulu Wini housing complex <br /> area.
