4pVMty G c M--!Y <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII -•_ ,'=- '„/_• STATE OF HAWAII <br /> • OF-• <br /> N►'i, <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 292 15 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO ENTER <br /> INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE STATE OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT <br /> OF THE TRANSPORTATION PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, TO ACCEPT <br /> FEDERAL FUNDS FOR THE OFFICE OF THE PROSECUTING <br /> ATTORNEY'S DOT FLEX PROGRAM <br /> WHEREAS, the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation has authorized <br /> federally derived funds to be provided to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney for their <br /> DOT Flex program; and <br /> WHEREAS, the funds from this grant will be used for costs directly related to <br /> providing specialized training for police, prosecutors and members of the judiciary in the <br /> investigation and prosecution of drivers impaired by drugs and/or alcohol; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that county <br /> departments obtain the consent of the council to enter into agreements with the federal <br /> or state governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the powers <br /> granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance in <br /> connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, in <br /> accordance with section 46-7, Hawaii Revised Statutes, that the Mayor of the County of <br /> Hawaii is authorized to execute, on behalf of the County an agreement, and related <br /> documents with the State of Hawaii Department of Transportation to enable the County <br /> to receive funds for the DOT Flex program. <br />
