No. 524/Bill No. 109 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 1:20 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Bill No. 109, reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 109, transmitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi via Communication No. 524 dated <br /> October 12, 2015, amends Condition E of Change of Zone Ordinance No. 94-06. Condition E of <br /> Ordinance No. 94-06 states "Construction of the proposed commercial development shall be <br /> completed within three (3) years from the effective date of this ordinance." The applicants, Eric and <br /> Joslyn Hoota, request a five-year time extension from the date of approval of this amendment to <br /> complete construction of a medical office building or other commercial development. They have been <br /> unable to proceed with construction of the project due to unforeseen personal health issues and the <br /> recent recession. The subject parcel covers 26,770 square feet. <br /> The Windward Planning Commission, at its duly held public hearing on October 1, 2015, <br /> recommended approval of this item. <br /> The applicants appeared before the Council.
