No. 603/Bill No. 125 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 2:15 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Finance, to which was referred Bill No. 125, reports as follows: <br /> Bill No. 125,transmitted by Council Member Valerie T. Poindexter, via Communication No. 603 <br /> dated December 15, 2015, amends Ordinance No. 15-58, as amended, relating to public <br /> improvements and financing thereof for the fiscal year July 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016. <br /> This measure adds the Parks and Recreation, Honomu Park New Playground Equipment—County <br /> project for $500,000 to the Capital Budget. Funds for this project shall be provided from General <br /> Obligation Bonds, Capital Projects Fund—Fund Balance and/or Other Sources ($500,000). Funds <br /> would be used for the construction of new playground equipment at Honomu Park. <br /> Council Member Valerie Poindexter explained that she needs to put this project on capital <br /> improvement budget, then clarified that this is an existing park in need of repair, and that it does not <br /> meet current safety standards. <br /> The vote was taken on the motion to approve, with six ayes.
