REQUEST: <br /> Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a multi-year lease agreement for one (1) Track Wheel <br /> Excavator for a period of five (5) years for the Department of Environmental Management, Solid Waste <br /> Division. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The Solid Waste Division is requesting to lease one (1) Track Wheel Excavator to be used for diverting green <br /> waste from our landfills. <br /> The County's Solid Waste Division has been supporting the diversion of green waste from our landfills by <br /> providing green waste collection sites at some of the transfer stations. In order to accomplish this task Solid <br /> Waste has been renting an excavator. The Solid Waste Division will be adding additional green waste <br /> collection sites to increase green waste diversion. Leasing to own a track wheel excavator is more cost <br /> effective than continuing to rent one. <br /> Purchase price estimated at $252,000, the estimated lease is $4,450 per month. <br /> Funding for the lease is included in the FY 2015-16 budget.
