.(11;;14.;ce.L.L.."F.''''''''''''''' <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII -• ��i " / STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 449 16 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE KEA'AU <br /> COUGARS ATHLETIC BOOSTERS FOR THE 2016 KEA'AU HIGH SCHOOL <br /> PROJECT GRAD NIGHT. <br /> WHEREAS, the Kea'au Cougars Athletic Boosters is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization <br /> that assists Kea'au High School with programs and activities that benefit the students that attend <br /> Kea'au High School, including the Kea'au High School Project Grad Night Program; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Kea'au High School Project Grad Night provides a safe, secure, and <br /> supervised celebration alternative to the traditional graduation parties that involve underage <br /> drinking, illegal substance use, and unsupervised late-night partying that normally results in <br /> drinking and driving, all of which pose a hazard to the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, this alcohol- and drug-free event provides the parents and families of the <br /> graduates with the peace of mind that their child is in a safe and wholesome environment after <br /> graduation; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the Department of Liquor Control's goals is to support youth <br /> programs that promote alcohol- and drug-free events, including Project Grad Night activities; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency <br /> Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution <br /> identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, <br /> equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and <br /> WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the <br /> Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Kea'au Cougars Athletic Boosters for the <br /> 2016 Kea'au High School Project Grad Night; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br /> following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br />
