FOR THE 2016 ST. PATRICK'S DAY PARADE. <br /> WHEREAS, the Hilo Skate Plaza Coalition, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization <br /> that has agreed to support the third annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in Hilo; and <br /> WHEREAS, the St. Patrick's Day Parade, held on March 19, 2016, has been planned as <br /> a public and alcohol-free event that brings together many people to celebrate community spirit <br /> and Irish culture; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hilo Skate Plaza Coalition, Inc. is requesting funds to assist with <br /> expenses related to providing special duty police officers along the parade route, advertising, and <br /> public notices; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and <br /> WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 4 will be appropriated to <br /> the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Hilo Skate Plaza Coalition, Inc., for a <br /> reimbursement of expenses relating to the 2016 St. Patrick's Day Parade in Hilo; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br /> following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br />
