LGliq <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 456 16 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO SELF-DISCOVERY <br /> THROUGH ART FOR EXPENSES RELATED TO PROVIDING ART THERAPY AS A <br /> HEALTHY ALTERNATIVE. <br /> WHEREAS, Self-Discovery Through Art is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that <br /> provides art therapy as a healthy drug and alcohol free alternative to coping with life; and <br /> WHEREAS, these art therapy programs and activities encourage healthy social and <br /> educational interaction in a safe environment that is smoke-, drug-, and alcohol-free; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the Department of Liquor Control's goals is to support programs that <br /> promote smoke-, drug-, and alcohol-free activities and programs conducted in a healthy and safe <br /> environment to benefit those who reside in our County; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and <br /> WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the <br /> Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Self-Discovery Through Art to assist with <br /> expenses related to its art therapy program and activities; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br /> following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br />
