JMYY ........ <br /> • <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII :•f STATE OF HAWAII <br /> 'r�>r of N►.'��``. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 464 16 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE WAIAKEA HIGH <br /> SCHOOL FOUNDATION FOR EXPENSES RELATED TO THE MENTORING <br /> PROGRAM OF WAIAKEA HIGH SCHOOL'S KEY CLUB. <br /> WHEREAS, the Waiakea High School Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization <br /> that assists Waiakea High School with programs and activities that benefit, enhance, and enrich <br /> the learning experience and the lives of the students that attend Waiakea High School; and <br /> WHEREAS, these Waiakea High School programs and activities encourage healthy <br /> social and educational interaction between students, faculty, friends, staff, and other community <br /> members in a safe environment that is smoke-free, drug-free, and alcohol-free; and <br /> WHEREAS, Waiakea High School's Key Club is a student-led organization that teaches <br /> leadership through service to others, such as its mentoring program with students at Kapi`olani <br /> Elementary School and Waiakea Elementary School; and <br /> WHEREAS, one of the Department of Liquor Control's goals is to support programs that <br /> promote smoke-free, drug-free, and alcohol-free activities and programs conducted in a healthy <br /> and safe environment to benefit those who reside in our County; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and <br /> WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to <br /> the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Waiakea High School Foundation to <br /> assist with expenses related to the mentoring program of Waiakea High School's Key Club; now, <br /> therefore, <br />
