COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 465 16 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE WAIAKEA HIGH SCHOOL FOUNDATION FOR EXPENSES RELATED TO A COMMUNITY SERVICE PROJECT OF WAIAKEA HIGH SCHOOL'S STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION FOR THE MAKE-A-WISH FOUNDATION. WHEREAS, the Waiakea High School Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that assists Waiakea High School with programs and activities that benefit, enhance, and enrich the learning experience and the lives of the students that attend Waiakea High School; and WHEREAS, these Waiakea High School programs and activities encourage healthy social and educational interaction between students, faculty, friends, staff, and other community members in a safe environment that is smoke-free, drug-free, and alcohol-free; and WHEREAS, Waiakea High School's Student Government Association (SGA) is a leadership program designed to prepare students for a lifetime of service to their communities, and the SGA would like to assist the Make-A-Wish Foundation as its next community service project; and WHEREAS, one of the Department of Liquor Control's goals is to support programs that promote smoke-free, drug-free, and alcohol-free activities and programs conducted in a healthy and safe environment to benefit those who reside in our County; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Waiakea High School Foundation to assist with expenses related to a community service project of Waiakea High School's SGA for the Make-A-Wish Foundation; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:
