• <br /> 051 <br /> OS R �,',. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII : ‘.i.6-, ',!!;;\'''.-# STATE OF HAWAII <br /> .:••4rt os M►.'M <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 472 16 <br /> RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE DONATION <br /> OF A SCENT TRACKING DOG FROM THE FRIENDS OF THE MISSING <br /> CHILD CENTER-HAWAII, FOR USE IN TRACKING AND LOCATING <br /> MISSING PERSONS <br /> WHEREAS, the Friends of the Missing Child Center-Hawaii is donating a scent <br /> tracking canine, to the Hawaii County Police Department; and <br /> WHEREAS, this canine, named Falcon, whose estimated value is $5,000, will be <br /> utilized to help locate missing persons; and <br /> WHEREAS, Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter provides <br /> that the Council, on behalf of the County, may accept gifts of donations of money, <br /> securities or other personal property or of real estate or any interest in real estate, and <br /> Chapter 2, Article 30, Section 2-162 (a) of the Hawaii County Code states that any gifts <br /> or donations of money, securities, or personal property which fall within the <br /> capitalization procedures of the Department of Finance, may be accepted by resolution <br /> approved by the Council; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Hawaii County Police Department recommends the acceptance <br /> of this donation; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that in <br /> accordance with Article XIII, Section 13-12, of the Hawaii County Charter, and Chapter <br /> 2, Article 30, Section 2-162(a) of the Hawaii County Code, the Council of the County of <br /> Hawai`i accepts this donation. <br />
