BILL NO. 183 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 10, DIVISION 1, OF THE <br /> HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION, AS AMENDED), RELATING TO <br /> SPEED LIMITS. <br /> BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br /> SECTION 1. The purpose of this amendment is to increase the speed limit from 30 <br /> miles per hour to 45 miles per hour on a section of the Kalapana-Kapoho Beach Road, pursuant <br /> to a traffic study that justified the revision. <br /> SECTION 2. Chapter 24, Article 10, Division 1, Section 24-260, Schedule 8, 45 mile <br /> per hour limit, subsection (g), Puna, of the Hawai`i County Code 1983 (2005 edition, as <br /> amended), is amended by this new item and renumbering as required: <br /> ( ) Kalapana-Kapoho Beach Road, from Kapoho Kai Drive and <br /> extending six thousand three hundred sixty-one feet in the southerly <br /> direction. <br /> SECTION 3. Material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New material is <br /> underscored. In printing this ordinance, the brackets, bracketed and stricken material and <br /> underscoring need not be included. <br /> SECTION 4. Severability. If any provision of this ordinance, or the application thereof <br /> to any person or circumstance, is held invalid, such invalidity shall not affect other provisions or <br /> applications of the ordinance which can be given effect without the invalid provision or <br /> application, and to this end, the provisions of this ordinance are declared to be severable. <br /> SECTION 5.
