No. 765 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 9:30 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawaii County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 765, reports as follows: <br /> Communication No. 765, submitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi dated March 7, 2016, nominates Joseph <br /> B. Clarkson to the Windward Planning Commission to fill the remainder of a vacant term to expire on <br /> December 31, 2016. If confirmed, after his term expires, he will be eligible to be reappointed to a full <br /> term to end on December 31, 2020. <br /> Bobby Command, Deputy Planning Director, who participated by videoconference from Kona, <br /> introduced Mr. Clarkson, who was present in the Hilo Council chambers. <br /> Mr. Clarkson said he was pleased to be nominated. He said he had been active in community affairs for <br /> almost his entire adult life and that he is willing to continue doing so. <br /> Ms. Eoff and Ms. Wille thanked Mr. Clarkson for stepping up to serve. <br /> Mr. Clarkson was informed that he is not required to be present for Council confirmation. <br /> Your Committee on Planning is in accord with the purpose and intent of Communication No. 765, and <br /> recommends confirmation of the appointment of Joseph B.
