Form #: B-52
7/18/91
DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE
REQUEST FOR COUNCIL ACTION
Office of Housing & Community
DEPARTMENT: Development DATE: 04/18/16
STAFF CONTACT: Susan Akiyama PHONE: (808)961-8379
A. REQUEST:
We request to amend Ordinance 15-57, the Operating Budget to increase the Budget in the General Fund as
follows:
Appropriate $150,000 to account State Grant-Aloha United Way 010.3305.92. This is a state grant issued to
Aloha United Way and disbursed to the counties to support the Coordinated Statewide Homeless Initiative.
B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED):
The increase in appropriation reflects a grant received by Aloha United way to support the Coordinated
Statewide Homeless Initiative. Monies will be used for security deposits, first and/or last month rent, and/or
utilities to provide needed resources and support to our homeless and at-risk population.
To expedite this matter, the Office of Housing and Community Development humbly requests a waiver from
the Finance Committee and to have have this bill heard at the next Council meeting scheduled for May 4,
2016 for approval in place before June 30, 2016. If the waiver is not approved, it will delay our efforts in
providing the much needed resources and support to our homeless and at-risk population.
SIGNED:
DATE: Il4llb
-pa • ent Head
