No. 871 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 9:07 a.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawaii 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Planning, to which was referred Communication No. 871, reports as follows: <br /> Communication No. 871, transmitted by Mayor William P. Kenoi dated April 7, 2016, nominates <br /> Mark Travalino to the Board of Appeals. If confirmed, Mr. Travalino would serve a term to expire <br /> December 31, 2019. <br /> Charmaine Shigemura, Executive Assistant to Mayor Kenoi, introduced Mr. Travalino. <br /> Mr. Travalino said he will be able to contribute his knowledge of development in West Hawaii to the <br /> board. Ms. Poindexter thanked Mr. Travalino for his service and appreciates that he is stepping up to the <br /> plate to serve. Mr. Onishi and Mr. Kanuha said they are grateful for his prior public service and voiced <br /> his support. Mr. Kanuha added it is nice to have a full board present and voting on issues. Mr. Chung <br /> asked Mr. Travalino to use his best judgment in his decisions. Mr. Paleka said Mr. Travalino's <br /> knowledge about employee contracts will be an asset.
