No. 1101 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 3:03 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, Hawai`i 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Agriculture, Water and Energy Sustainability, to which was referred <br /> Communication No. 1101, reports as follows: <br /> Communication No. 1101, transmitted by Mayor Billy Kenoi, dated September 29, 2016, <br /> nominates Ms. Teresa L. Nakama of Council District 8 to the County of Hawai`i Game <br /> Management Advisory Commission. Ms. Nakama is a lifelong resident of Hawai`i and is <br /> employed by Securitas as a Standing Guard. <br /> Ms. Nakama is Chair of the West Hawai`i Aha Moku, Director of the Big Island Fisheries <br /> Alliance, and a member of the Kona Hawaiian Civic Club. She states that she is a <br /> Democrat. If confirmed, she will serve the remainder of a term to end on December 31, 2019, <br /> replacing Mark C. Bartell, who resigned. <br /> Executive Assistant to the Mayor Ilihia Gionson introduced Ms. Nakama, who was present in <br /> Kailua- Kona. She stated that she is ready to step up and be an advocate for the people and <br /> resources. Council Members expressed their gratitude for her willingness to volunteer and their <br /> confidence in her ability to voice her opinions. <br /> Ms. Nakama's attendance is not required for the full Council confirmation. <br /> Your Committee on Agriculture, Water and Energy Sustainability is in accord with the purpose <br /> and intent of Communication 1101 and recommends confirmation of the appointment of <br /> Ms. Teresa L.
