..z.‘'.?..?*.!!--7.17.......... .. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII f •f m /i•I STATE OF HAWAII <br /> iosN. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 717 16 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO CROSSNET <br /> MINISTRIES INTERNATIONAL TO REIMBURSE THE PILIPA`A VOLLEYBALL <br /> CLUB FOR TRAVEL EXPENSES RELATED TO ITS PARTICIPATION IN THE 2016 <br /> JUNIOR OLYMPICS• <br /> WHEREAS, Crossnet Ministries International, which falls under the Gospel Ministers <br /> and Churches International, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that sponsors or forms <br /> relationships with various sports clubs, such as the Pilipa'a Volleyball Club in Kea'au; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Pilipa'a Volleyball Club consists of athletes from different schools in <br /> the Hilo and Puna areas who are serious about self-development and participating in competitive <br /> tournaments; and <br /> WHEREAS, representing Hawai`i Island,the Pilipa'a Volleyball Club competed in the <br /> 2016 Junior Olympics held in Dallas, Texas, from June 29, 2016, to July 4, 2016; and <br /> WHEREAS, Crossnet Ministries International is seeking a reimbursement for travel <br /> expenses, such as air travel and sleeping accommodations, related to the Pilipa'a Volleyball <br /> Club's participation in the 2016 Junior Olympics; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control develops partnerships with other <br /> providers and community organizations that promote sober fun through drug-free and alcohol- <br /> free events; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and <br /> WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to <br /> the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to Crossnet Ministries International to <br /> reimburse the Pilipa'a Volleyball Club for travel expenses related to its participation in the 2016 <br /> Junior Olympics held in Dallas, Texas; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br /> following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br />
