No. 709-16 <br /> PLACE: Council Chambers <br /> Kailua-Kona, Hawai`i <br /> TIME: 4:33 p.m. <br /> Council Chair and Members <br /> Hawai`i County Council <br /> Hilo, HI 96720 <br /> Your Committee on Environmental Management, to which was referred Resolution No. 709-16, <br /> reports as follows: <br /> Resolution No. 709-16, transmitted by Council Member Daniel K. Paleka, Jr., via <br /> Communication No. 1147, dated October 14, 2016, requesting the Department of Environmental <br /> Management and Research and Development to initiate a feasibility impact study relating to <br /> extended producer responsibility and incentives. <br /> November 1, 2016: There were about 2 people who provided testimony in opposition to <br /> Resolution No. 709-16. After hearing all public testimony, Mr. Onishi called a recess to the <br /> November 15 meeting in Kona. <br /> November 15, 2016: A motion to approve Resolution No. 709-16 was made by Mr. Paleka and <br /> seconded by Ms. Wille. Mr. Paleka expressed his thoughts regarding this resolution and asked <br /> for support. <br /> Mr. Chung expressed his congratulations to Mr. Paleka and Ms. Wille for their hard work and <br /> success.
