40 •`v y1�1 <br />COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br />ff,Tf OF N+�r <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br />AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br />DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE WEST HAWAII <br />VETERANS CEMETERY DEVELOPMENT AND EXPANSION ASSOCIATION, INC., <br />TO PAY FOR COLUMBARIUM VASE FIXTURES. <br />WHEREAS, the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery Development and Expansion <br />Association, Inc., (WHVCDEA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization consisting of veteran <br />organizations, individual veterans, and citizens that have organized and facilitated numerous <br />projects at the County's West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery-Pu`u Ho`omaha O Na Po`e Koa O <br />Hawaii Komohana (WHVC) to assist and honor our veterans; and <br />WHEREAS, WHVCDEA has requested funds to assist veteran families that are unable <br />to pay for the cost of columbarium vase fixtures for loved ones that are placed to rest at WHVC; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the act of honoring and paying tribute to a loved one by placing flowers <br />directly upon a burial site is a traditional, emotional, and precious act of remembrance; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, <br />Contingency Relief fiends shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br />resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br />activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and <br />WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to <br />the Department of Parks and Recreation to provide a grant to WHVCDEA to pay for <br />columbarium vase fixtures at WHVC; now, therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the <br />following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below: <br />
