JMY Os M,1 COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII art Of •N► RESOLUTION NO. 15 16 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO ST. JOSEPH SCHOOL FOR THE 2017 ST. JOSEPH HIGH SCHOOL PROJECT GRAD NIGHT. WHEREAS, St. Joseph School is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides programs and activities that benefit its students, such as the St. Joseph High School Project Grad Night program; and WHEREAS, the St. Joseph High School Project Grad Night provides a safe, secure, and supervised celebration as an alternative to the traditional graduation parties that involve underage drinking, illegal substance use, and unsupervised late-night partying that normally results in drinking and driving, all of which pose a hazard to the community; and WHEREAS, this alcohol- and drug-free event provides the parents and families of the graduates with peace of mind knowing that their child is in a safe and wholesome environment after graduation; and WHEREAS, St. Joseph School is requesting funds for the purchase of food, supplies, and other miscellaneous costs related to the 2017 St. Joseph High School Project Grad Night; and WHEREAS, one of the Department of Liquor Control's goals is to support youth programs that promote alcohol- and drug-free events, including the St. Joseph High School Project Grad Night program; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; and WHEREAS, Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to St. Joseph School for the 2017 St. Joseph High School Project Grad Night; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:
