COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 17 1G A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRINGIAPPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE HILO HIGH SCHOOL FOUNDATION FOR THE 2017 HILA HIGH SCHOOL PROJECT (:RAI) NIGHT. WHEREAS, the Hilo High School Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that assists Hilo High School with programs and activities that benefit its students, including the Hilo Iligh School Project Grad Night program; and WHEREAS, the Hilo I-ligh School Project Grad Night provides a safe, secure, and supervised celebration as an alternative to the traditional graduation parties that involve underage drinking, illegal substance use, and unsupervised late-night partying that normally results in drinking and driving, all of which pose a hazard to the community; and WHEREAS, this alcohol- and drug-free event provides the parents and families of the graduates with peace of mind knowing that their child is in a safe and wholesome environment after grade atiom and WHEREAS, the Hilo High School Foundation is requesting funds for the purchase of trod, supplies, and other miscellaneous costs related to the 2017 f filo High School Project Grad Night; and WHEREAS, one of the Department of Liquor Control's goals is to support youth programs that promote alcohol- and drug-free events, including the Hilo I sigh School Project Grad Night program; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(.A) olthe Hawai'i County Code. Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County departmeutlagency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used: and WHEREAS. Contingency Relieffunds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Hilo High School Foundation for the 2017 I lito I ligh School Project Grad Night; now, therefore, BE IT RFSOLVED BY'FFIE COUNCIL OF THE COUN'T'Y OF HAWAN that the following amount is hereby transferred/appropriated as set forth below:
