determined by DPW and would become payable to the County prior to the County <br /> initiating a project for the installation of curb, gutter and sidewalk improvements along <br /> the road frontage in proximity to the subject property. The DPW also recommends that <br /> the applicant reconstruct the damaged sidewalk fronting the subject property prior to the <br /> issuance of a Certificate of Occupancy for any commercial uses on the property and <br /> install any streetlights or traffic control devised that may be required by the Traffic <br /> Division. <br /> 16. Water: County water is available from an existing 10-inch waterline fronting the <br /> property along Kilauea Avenue. The 10-inch waterline is capable of providing the <br /> required pressure of 2,000 gallons per minute of water flow for fire protection for <br /> commercial zoning.The Department of Water Supply(DWS)will determine the <br /> appropriate service lateral and meter size required once the applicant provides estimated <br /> maximum daily water usage calculations for the proposed commercial land use. The <br /> DWS also recommends a reduced pressure type backflow prevention assembly be <br /> installed. <br /> 17. Wastewater: The subject property is accessible to the County sewer and is situated in <br /> the Department of Health's (DOH) Critical Wastewater Disposal Area. The Department <br /> of Environmental Management has indicated that any existing or new structure is <br /> required to connect to the public sewer in accordance with Section 21-5 (Sewers) of the <br /> County Code. <br /> 18. Solid Waste: There are no municipal waste collection services in the County. All solid <br /> waste generated by development of the property will require private disposal at the Hilo <br /> landfill. <br /> 19.
