Kamelamela as Corporation Counsel for the County of Hawai'i, pursuant to Section 6-5.2 of the Hawai'i County Charter. This appointment will take effect upon his confirmation. Mr. Kamelmela served in the Office of the Corporation Counsel from 1987 to 2014. During that time, he served on the litigation team and in 2001, he took on a leadership role as Litigation Chief. In 2012, he was promoted to serve as the Senior Deputy Corporation Counsel. Mr. Kamelamela is in good standing before the Supreme Court of the State of Hawaii. His resume is attached for your information. Mr. Kamelamela will serve a term co -terminus with my tenure, which will end on December 7, 2020. Because his appointment does not take effect until he is confirmed by the Council, I respectfully request a waiver of this matter through committee so that it may be considered by the full County Council on December 21, 2016.
