STATE OF HAWAII 34 1.7 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE BIG ISLAND WAVE RIDERS AGAINST DRUGS FOR THE WEST HAWAII COMMUNITY BEACH CLEANUP. WHEREAS, the Big Island Wave Riders Against Drugs is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that cosponsors the West Hawaii Community Beach Cleanup with the County of Hawaii; and WHEREAS, the West Hawaii Community Beach Cleanup is scheduled for March 4, 2017, and the community will be cleaning all County and State beaches between Anaeho`omalu Bay and Miloli`i; and WHEREAS, the Big Island Wave Riders Against Drugs promotes unity through drug- free group participation, as well as community awareness on the importance of keeping our beaches clean; and WHEREAS, the Big Island Wave Riders Against Drugs is requesting funds for trash bags, t -shirts, lunch, and goodie bags for all volunteers of the West Hawaii Community Beach Cleanup; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Big Island Wave Riders Against Drugs to assist with expenses associated with the West Hawaii Community Beach Cleanup. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
