COUNTY OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. STATE OF HAWAII 35 17 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE BIG ISLAND WAVE RIDERS AGAINST DRUGS TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES ASSOCIATED WITH THE WEST HAWAI`I'S COMMUNITY BEACH CLEANUP. WHEREAS, the West Hawai`i's Community Beach Cleanup is scheduled for March 4, 2017, which involves a cleanup of beaches from Anaeho`omalu to Miloli`i; and WHEREAS, the Big Island Wave Riders Against Drugs is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that promotes unity through drug-free group participation, and cosponsors the West Hawai`i's Community Beach Cleanup with the County of Hawaii; and WHEREAS, the Big Island Wave Riders Against Drugs and is requesting funds to assist with expenses for newspaper and radio advertisements, as well as t -shirts, lunch and goodie bags for each participant; and WHEREAS, one of the Department of Liquor Control's goals is to support youth with programs that promote alcohol- and drug-free events, such as programs that implement a safe and healthy environment for learning; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 8 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Big Island Wave Riders Against Drugs to assist with expenses associated with the West Hawai`i's Community Beach Cleanup. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Council hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
