COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII RESOLUTION NO. 43 1'7 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE DANIEL R. SAYRE MEMORIAL FOUNDATION TO REFURBISH THE HAWAII FIRE DEPARTMENT'S RADON RESCUE BOAT. WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to providing essential equipment to the Hawaii Fire Department to help save lives; and WHEREAS, the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation has raised over $20,000 in donations to refurbish the Hawaii Fire Department's Radon rescue boat, which is vital to its rescue operations; and WHEREAS, additional funds are needed to cover the remaining balance to purchase the necessary materials and parts to refurbish the Radon rescue boat; and WHEREAS, the County of Hawaii recognizes the efforts of the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation to raise funds for the Hawaii Fire Department, and it is grateful for the generous donations that have made a tremendous impact on the safety and quality of life for Hawaii Island residents and visitors; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawaii County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Hawaii Fire Department to provide a grant to the Daniel R. Sayre Memorial Foundation to assist with refurbishing the Hawaii Fire Department's Radon rescue boat. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawaii hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
