The purpose of the meeting was to
invite community members to share concerns and possible solutions with my office, the Mayor's
office, the Prosecuting Attorney's office, and the Chiefs of both the Police and Fire Departments.
Being that District 5 was also directly impacted, I invited Council Member Jen Ruggles who
represents District 5 on the County Council.
The meeting was attended by over 150 individuals including Council Member Sue Lee Loy, who
actually offered some good information for addressing our issues as our community moves
forward in its healing and problem solving.
HRS § 92-2.5(e) provides that two or more members of a board, but less than a quorum, may
attend an informational meeting or presentation on matters relating to official board business,
including a meeting of another entity, legislative hearing, convention, seminar, or community
meeting; provided that the meeting or presentation is not specifically and exclusively organized
for or directed toward members of the board. The section further provides that at the next duly
noticed meeting of the board, the board members shall report their attendance and the matters
presented and discussed that related to official board business.
Please place this communication on the next available meeting of the Council.
Mahalo ;omm.No 73•
:ef.To: A
3ef.Date
EO/bl
