trOJ.tY COUNTY OF HAWAII "'•".*.•1' STATE OF HAWAII • RESOLUTION NO. 67 17 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO FRIENDS OF BIG ISLAND DRUG COURT, INC., TO PAY FOR SERVICES FOR PARTICIPANTS OF THE BIG ISLAND DRUG COURT. WHEREAS, the Big Island Drug Court started on Hawai`i Island in 2002 and is a specialized treatment program that provides intense supervision of participants dealing with substance abuse in collaboration with the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney, Office of the Public Defender, Hawai`i Police Department, Adult Probation Division of the Third Circuit Court, and the State Department of Public Safety; and WHEREAS, Friends of Big Island Drug Court, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose purpose is to secure funds for drug courts in Hawai`i County, which includes the planning and implementation of court-related services; and WHEREAS, Friends of Big Island Drug Court, Inc., is requesting funds to pay for services for participants of the Big Island Drug Court program; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 2 will be appropriated to the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney to provide a grant to Friends of Big Island Drug Court, Inc., for court- related services for participants of the Big Island Drug Court program. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
