COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII ,tt O;.N�'� RESOLUTION NO. 69 17 A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE WAIAKEA HIGH SCHOOL PARENT TEACHER STUDENT ASSOCIATION TO ASSIST WITH EXPENSES RELATING TO THE PURCHASE AND INSTALLATION OF FANS AT WAIAKEA HIGH SCHOOL'S GYMNASIUM. WHEREAS, the Waiakea High School Parent Teacher Student Association ("Waiakea HS PTSA") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that assists the parents, teachers, and students of Waiakea High School; and WHEREAS, the Waiakea HS PTSA seeks funding assistance to purchase and install four fans (14-foot diameter) at the Waiakea High School's Warrior Gym to improve air circulation and comfort for users of the gym during physical education classes, sports practices, Big Island Interscholastic Federation activities, emergency evacuations, and school assemblies; and WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control and the administration of Waiakea High School support the efforts of the Waiakea HS PTSA to provide a healthy, safe, and comfortable environment where drug-free, smoke-free, and alcohol-free programs and activities are conducted for the benefit of the students and the public; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that Contingency Relief funds from Council District 3 will be appropriated to the Department of Liquor Control to provide a grant to the Waiakea HS PTSA to assist with expenses relating to the purchase and installation of fans at Waiakea High School's gymnasium. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below:
