J�tY Oi M1.,.. <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII -•� ";= X.I.- STATE OF HAWAII <br /> • ,TE <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 72 17 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO THE FOOD BASKET, <br /> INC., TO ASSIST THE STATE OF HAWAII DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH'S <br /> SUPPLEMENTAL NUTRITION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM. <br /> WHEREAS, the State of Hawai`i Department of Health's Supplemental Nutritional <br /> Assistance Program (SNAP) has offered to bring the Double Bucks program to Maku`u Market; <br /> and <br /> WHEREAS, the Double Bucks program makes the purchase of fresh local vegetable and <br /> fruit crops affordable for our most food insecure residents; and <br /> WHEREAS, The Food Basket, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission <br /> is to eradicate the root of hunger; and <br /> WHEREAS, The Food Basket, Inc., strongly supports the Double Bucks program that <br /> helps residents purchase fresh local fruits and vegetables; and <br /> WHEREAS, this funding transfer is in alignment with the Department of Research and <br /> Development's Agriculture Program objective of supporting local, national, and international <br /> promotion of locally produced agricultural products; now, therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 5 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Research and Development to provide a grant to The Food Basket, Inc., to assist with SNAP's <br /> Double Bucks program at Maku`u Market. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
