JMSY'0,M <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII STATE OF HAWAII <br /> �Tt�f•M,r•_. <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 84 17 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO HAWAII ISLAND <br /> UNITED WAY FOR EXPENSES RELATING TO ITS YOUTH ENGAGEMENT <br /> INITIATIVE. <br /> WHEREAS, Hawai`i Island United Way ("HIUW") is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit <br /> organization whose mission is to unite people, organizations, and resources to build a healthier <br /> community; and <br /> WHEREAS, HIUW is also committed to building supportive communities that offer <br /> children and adults a range of educational and economic opportunities; and <br /> WHEREAS, HIUW supports various organizations and community partners that offer <br /> programs and services for youth and wishes to expand its youth engagement initiative through <br /> the use of social media and other social networking tools; and <br /> WHEREAS, HIUW is requesting funds to assist with expenses relating to the <br /> development and implementation of its social media plan to reach and engage more young <br /> people and to get the message out about its youth programs and services; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that <br /> promote the health, safety, and welfare of the community; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Hawai`i Island United Way to assist with expenses relating <br /> to its youth engagement initiative. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
