REQUEST: <br /> We request to amend Ordinance 16-72, The 2016-2017 Operating Budget to increase the Budget in the <br /> Housing Fund as follows: <br /> The Office of Housing and Community Development is requesting the appropriation of$3,000,000 to the <br /> Housing Voucher Program (Account Number 152.3301.54). This amount represents an additional increase in <br /> revenues received from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to be used for Housing <br /> Assistance Payment subsidies, and is to cover the expenditure account number 152.461.5466.30.371, <br /> Voucher rental subsidies. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The increase in appropriation reflects the updated allocation to be received from the U.S. Department of <br /> Housing and Urban Development for the period July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017 for the Housing Choice <br /> Voucher HCV (Section 8 program). The $3,000,000 is to be used for payment of rental assistance for eligible <br /> participants in the program. The OHCD expects to expend this allocation by June 30, 2017. <br /> In February of each year, the OHCD compares the County budgeted and HUD anticipated funding for the <br /> Section 8 Program and adjust the budgeted amounts, if necessary; to reflect more closely the anticipated <br /> Program 8 funding the County is to receive for the current fiscal year. <br /> DATE: a1d! / <br /> SIGNED: <br /> De ea •-nt Head <br />
