REQUEST: <br /> Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a multi-year lease agreement for two (2) Roll-Off Pull Trailers <br /> for a period of five (5) years for the Department of Environmental Management, Solid Waste Division. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The Solid Waste Division is requesting to lease finance two (2) Roll-Off Pull Trailers to be used for hauling <br /> refuse and recyclable bins from various transfer stations to DOH approved/permittd Solid Waste and <br /> Recycling facilities. <br /> The division is looking to increase efficiency through the use of these trailers. Currently, the division is <br /> hauling one Roll-Off dumpster at a time because of the limitations of the straight-frame trucks. With these <br /> roll-off pull trailers, the division will be able to link the trailer to the straight-frame truck and haul two bins at a <br /> time. This will increase efficiency and help the division lower the fuel expense with less trips being made. <br /> The total purchase price is estimated at $100,000, the estimated lease payment is $2,000 per month for the <br /> two roll-off pull trailers. <br /> Funding for the lease is included in the Fiscal Year 2016-17 budget.
