REQUEST: <br /> Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a multi-year lease agreement for one (1) D8T Dozer, or <br /> equivalent, for a period of five (5) years for the Department of Environmental Management, Solid Waste <br /> Division. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The Solid Waste Division is requesting to lease finance one (1) D8T Dozer, or equivalent, to be used at the <br /> West Hawaii Sanitary Landfill (WHSL) to break down refuse from the transfer stations and other compacted <br /> refuse in order to maximize compaction in the landfill and minimize airspace used. <br /> This dozer will replace a 2001 D8R dozer which is becoming too costly to continue to repair. <br /> Purchase price is estimated at $900,000.00, the estimated lease payment is $15,000 per month. <br /> Funding for the lease is included in the Fiscal Year 2016-17 budget. This equipment will be lease financed <br /> such that the County will own the equipment at the end of the five year lease. <br /> We respectfully request that this resolution be waived from the Council's Finance Committee and be placed <br /> on the March 8th, 2017 Council agenda in order to expedite the procurement of this equipment. <br /> L . <br /> SIGNED: / DATE: �iG— <br /> Department Head <br />
