REQUEST: <br /> Resolution authorizing the Mayor to enter into a multi-year lease agreement for a period of five (5) years for a <br /> folder/inserter machine for the Department of Environmental Management Administration/Business Services <br /> office. <br /> B. BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION (USE ADDITIONAL SHEETS AS NEEDED): <br /> The Department uses a folder/inserter machine monthly to fold and insert bills into envelopes for mailing. <br /> The current folder/inserter machine is nearly 10 years old and reached the end of its useful life. The machine <br /> is requiring more frequent service calls and replacement parts are becoming obsolete. The maintenance cost <br /> of the machine is increasing every year. It's more practical to lease a new folder/inserter machine than to <br /> continue maintenance of the old one. <br /> The machine will be leased for a period of 5 years. The estimated monthly cost for the lease is $700.00. <br /> Funding for the lease is included in the FY 2016-2017 budget. <br /> We respectfully request that this resolution be waived from the Council's Finance Committee and be placed <br /> on the March 8th, 2017 Council Agenda in order to expedite the procurement of this equipment. <br /> SIGNED: / / L DATE: 2 l� <br /> Department Head <br />
