�YYfOE M ,. <br /> „\,y-- <br /> COUNTY <br /> COUNTY OF HAWAII -•���'=-' /�•` STATE OF HAWAII <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 106 17 <br /> A RESOLUTION TRANSFERRING/APPROPRIATING AN APPROPRIATION OUT <br /> AND FROM A DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT AND CREDITING SAME TO A <br /> DESIGNATED FUND ACCOUNT TO PROVIDE A GRANT TO FRIENDS OF THE <br /> FUTURE FOR THE 3RD ANNUAL HOKUPA'A YOUTH SUMMIT. <br /> WHEREAS, Hokupa`a is a University of Hawai`i at Hilo community development <br /> project in partnership with the State Department of Education(West Hawai`i Complex Area), <br /> Kamehameha Schools, The Learning Coalition, Hawai`i Community College, Queen <br /> Lili`uokalani Children's Center, Hawai`i County Council, State Department of Human Services <br /> (Office of Youth Services), and other partners; and <br /> WHEREAS, Hokupa`a's mission is to empower young people and support schools to <br /> improve personal, educational, and economic success for youth and the future of Hawai`i by <br /> working together as communities with shared responsibilities; and <br /> WHEREAS, Friends of the Future is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that envisions <br /> harmony and balance among the diverse people of Hawai`i and encourages each person to <br /> contribute their deepest values to create shared visions and to continuously improve <br /> communities; and <br /> WHEREAS, Friends of the Future formally signed a collaboration agreement to be one <br /> of Hokupa`a's youth-support partners and will be an active participant of the 3`d Annual <br /> Hokupa`a Youth Summit, which will convene on April 28, 2017, at the Kahilu Town Hall; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Department of Liquor Control supports organizations and programs that <br /> promote drug-free and alcohol-free events; and <br /> WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 2-139(a)(2)(A) of the Hawai`i County Code, <br /> Contingency Relief funds shall be transferred to an accepting County department/agency via <br /> resolution identifying the nonprofit organization and the specific program, project, event, <br /> activity, service, equipment, materials, or supplies for which the grant shall be used; now, <br /> therefore, <br /> BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII that <br /> Contingency Relief funds from Council District 7 will be appropriated to the Department of <br /> Liquor Control to provide a grant to Friends of the Future for the 3`d Annual Hokupa`a Youth <br /> Summit. <br /> BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Council of the County of Hawai`i hereby <br /> transfers/appropriates the following amount as set forth below: <br />
